OUR Design steps

Our first step is to learn about your project. What are your ideas? Where are you in the process? What is most important to you in this project? We have a questionnaire to help with this process, and we love to see pictures that convey your ideas.

Based on what we've learned about your project and priorities, we'll begin to consider overall design ideas and site placement, the look and feel of your place, and how it will be built. Through this process we learn more about what matters most to you.

This is where we begin to finalize details.  Elevations and floor plans will show exact room sizes and ceiling heights. Many decisions are needed to align choices with your overall style, and match systems with your priorities. After you've approved these design drawings, we're ready to move to the next step.  

These drawings have the level of precision necessary to get detailed bids from contractors and to apply for your building permit. They include the site plan, floor plans, exterior elevations and energy code compliance. 

We can also provide specifications which give more details to your contractor about how exactly you want your home built. And we can assist with design selections to help you achieve the overall look and feel of the home you envision

If you'd like us to visit your site during the construction process, we'd be happy to do that. As former builders, we recognize the importance of good clear communication with your contractor before and during the building process.
